DMP Scores In Hollywood

Kristopher Carter, Lolita Ritmanis & Michael McCuistion scored their latest project, “Scooby-Doo And The Curious Case Of The Blue Falcon,” at EastWest Studios in Hollywood this past Monday. The score for this full-length animated movie features a live brass section and live woodwinds following Scooby along on his adventures to his favorite comic book convention.

“It was a thrill to record with L.A.’s finest brass players in this historic studio, which has been home to such musical icons as Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley, not to mention the location for recording well-known themes such as Mission Impossible and The Godfather,” said Michael, Lolita & Kristopher. Woodwinds were recorded previously at DMP’s Studio City Location and featured John Yoakum on a multitude of instruments throughout the entire score. “John is simply amazing; his ability to play practically every woodwind we need allows us to do so much more with our writing for any project.”

Bobby Fernandez recorded the live brass at EastWest, and Mark Mattson recorded woodwinds at MBM Studios. Dana Ross and Aija Mattson photographed the session. Mark Mattson and Mako Sujishi are mixing the final score. Larry Rench orchestrated the brass session music while Karen Smith and Leland Bond provided music library services and Joyce Ryan contracted the brass players.  Brass section musicians at the session were: Wayne Bergeron (Trumpet), Dan Fornero (Trumpet), John Fumo (Trumpet), Larry Hall (Trumpet), Alex Iles (Trombone), Steve Holtman (Trombone), Charlie Moriallas (Trombone), Bill Reichenbach (Bass Trombone).
